Our Milestone

1973

Formation

Formation of Jaycees Ibu Kota (West) by the Protem committee headed by JC Tan Kar An. Was given provisional affiliation to Jaycees Peninsular Malaysia.

1974

Officially Founded

ROS granted a provisional permit allowing the chapter to function officially in February 1974. In an Extra-ordinary General Meeting JC Randy Loo was elected as the Founder President.

1975

ROS Approved

On 23 September, the chapter received Certificate of Registration from ROS & instructed to change the Chapter’s name to Jaycees Kuala Lumpur (West). Organized our 1st Presidential Banquet in honor of the JCI President JCI Senator Jean-Cloude Feraud.

1976

Charter Year

On 6th March, the Chapter led by President JC Tan Kar An and organized the Charter Night to officially use the Chapter’s name Jaycees Kuala Lumpur (West). The Guest of Honor & Patron Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur Tan Sri Yaacob Bin Abdul Latiff, PSM, JMN, SPMS.

1977

Hosted General Assembly

Hosted the Jaycees Peninsular Malaysia Mid-Year General Assembly.

1978

Hosted Convention

Hosted the 23rd Jaycees Peninsular Malaysia Regional Convention.

1980

Jaycees Charity Ball

Organized the Jaycees Charity Ball in aid of The Selangor Cheshire Home.

1981

National Convention

Hosted the 6th Jaycees Malaysia National Convention.

1984

Malaysia Night

In charge of the “Malaysia Night” of the JCI Asia Pacific Conference at Genting Highland.

1986

International Earth Run

Organized the International First Earth Run from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore.

1987

Achievement

First Earth Run Project won Natcon award.

1989

New Chapter

Sponsored the new Chapter: Jaycees Johor Bahru. Larian Anti-Dadah against Drug Abuse and Trafficking.

1991

JCI Urasoe

Organized the JCIM Walk at the XVI National Convention.The Signing of an official Sisterhood Pact with JCI Urasoe of Okinawa.

1992

Represented Malaysia

Represented Malaysia in donating a stone with a peace message to the Okinawa District Council of Japan for their commemorative monument.

1993

Hosted TOYM

The Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian Awards Banquet. “Excel To Achieve” Symposium in conjunction with our Chapter’s 20th Anniversary celebration.

1994

International Project

A joint project Children’s Painting Contest with JCI Urasoe.

1995

JCI Illigan

The signing of an official Sisterhood Pact with JCI Iligan of the Philippines at the Mindanao Area Conference. Outstanding Community Project: Setting up of Libraries for the underprivileged Homes. Outstanding Individual Project:Teenagers Development Camp on May 27 - 29, in Templer Park.

1996

National President

JCI Senator Benny Low elected as JCIM President. “National Heritage” Photography & Children’s Painting Contest. Tea Party for the children of Abused Women.

1997

Hosted JCIM National Convention

JCM Convention Outstanding Past President - JCI Senator Connie Liew. “Learning to Learn’’ Training Camp at the Sekolah Menengah Sri Pantai. Hosted the 22nd Junior Chamber International Malaysia National Convention.

1999

2000

JCI Fong Yuan

Most Improved Student Award, Hosted JCI Prime Course. Signing of an official Sisterhood Pact with JCI Fong Yuan in Taiwan. The Largest Collection of Mother’s Day Messages in Malaysia (Malaysia Book of Records).

2001

Malaysia Book of Records

Signing of Friendship Pact with JCI Pan-Mac in Macau. The Largest Collection of Mini Placards in Malaysia (Malaysia Book of Records).

2002

Reactivated

Reactivated of Sisterhood Pact with JCI Iligan at Iligan Philippines.

2003

New Extension

New LO extension: JCI Sunway.

2008

Achievement

The Best Fund Raising Program ‘True Love Charity Bazaar’.

Achievements

Annual National Convention (Lutong) :- Most Outstanding Senator Award - JCI Senator Benny Low. The Best Fund Raising Program, Certificate of Merit for ‘Spread The Love Charity Bazaar’. National Best Debate Team. National Best Debater - JC Doreen Chan.

2011

Area Peninsular Convention (Kuala Lumpur) :- English Debate Team 1st Runner-up. Best Debater - JC Lydia Jominin. Top 10 efficiency LOM in Area Peninsular.

2012

New Youth LO extension: JCI Youth HELP University. Area Peninsular Convention (Johor Bahru) :- Top 10 LO in Area Peninsular Central South. Highest Score Contribution in Single Category to Area KPI. Annual National Convention :- Best Inter-Organisation Collaboration Award. Lives Saver Award.

2013

40th Anniversary

Organized the JCI KL West 40th Anniversary Banquet with fund raised RM180,000 for 2 Chinese Primary Schools. Area Peninsular Central South Convention :- Best Chapter Management.

2014

Area Peninsular Central South Convention :- Most Active Member: Alfie Kam. Most Outstanding Area Officer: Michelle Teh.

Top 10 LO Award. Area Peninsular Central South Convention (Muar) :- Best President Report 1st Runner-up - Jay Chow. Annual National Convention (Johor Bahru) :- JCIM 100% Efficiency Award.

Area Central South Convention (Melaka) :- English Debate - Champion. English Best Debater- Maegann Yap. Annual National Convention :- English Debate - 1st Runner Up. Best Local Empowerment Program Top 5 - Sunbeam Sports Tournament 2019. Best Local Global Goals Project - Be Happy Be Healthy. JCIM 100% Efficiency Award.
